180th Anniversary Celebrations!
Please join Stouffville's oldest Church as we celebrate our 180th Anniversary!
Stouffville Memorial Christian Church, established in 1842 originally as the Stouffville Congregational Church is now part of the Christian Church movement that emerged out of the early revivals in the United States. The Conference of Christian Churches in Ontario was established in southern Ontario in the early 19th century. The first Christian Church in Ontario was founded in Keswick, in 1821. We joined the conference of Christian Churches in 1903.
We will be celebrating our 180th Anniversary with a number of special activities including a Free Gospel Music Concert, participation in Doors Open Stouffville, and a special Service of Celebration. Please come and join us for these festivities!
These three events take place on the first weekend of June.
- Friday, June 3rd at 7:00 p.m. we will host a Free Gospel Music Concert featuring local musicians, instrumentals and vocals.
- Saturday, June 4th we will be participating in Doors Open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. as we welcome poeple through our facility to see and enjoy our beautiful building built in 1874.
- Sunday, June 5th, we will hold a special worship service at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Bob Fleming (former pastor of the Springvale Baptist Church) as our guest speaker. Organist Clement Carelse will be at the organ and the Gicana family will bring special music.
A special Victorian Tea will be hosted by the ladies of the Church after the service.
